There are a number of quick & easy checks you can do at home before your MOT test.

• Windscreen Wipers - do they clear the windscreen properly? Are they in good working condition?

• Windscreen Washer Bottle - does it have fluid in it or should it be topped up?

• Lights - are lights all working correctly? Sidelights, headlights, indicators, brake lights, fog lights and reverse lights (only on vehicles first used from 1st September 2009).

• Tyres - are they in good condition with sufficient tread (not bald, down to the ply or cords)? Don't forget to check the inner edges! Always turn the steering wheel to full lock to see the entire surface of the tread.
